Donald H. Walker, age 76, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, February 16, 2009, with his long-time friend and companion, Sarah, holding his hand. He was born in Janesville on June 4, 1932, the son of the late Stuart H. and Kathryn Ann (Burrows) Walker. Donald was a licensed electrician, but also worked at many varied jobs throughout his life, most recently at Fahey Pumps and Electric in Stoughton, before his retirement. And, as his grandchildren know, he could fix anything. Donald is survived by his very special friend and companion, Sarah Kelly Beffa; two daughters, Michelle (Christopher) Brand of Oregon and Kimberly (Randy) Keegan of Belvidere, IL; five grandchildren, Courtney (Shannon) Schrader, Kelly (Steve) Bigus, Randy Keegan, Andrew and Sirianna Brand; three great-grandchildren, Elysia and Amber Bigus, and Bryce Schrader; four step-sons, Donald, Will "Buzz", Ronald and James Roberts and their children; three brothers, Gordon (Sheri) Walker of Sun City, NV, Ken (Yvonne) Walker of Readstown and Robert Walker of Norfolk, NE; four sisters, Kathryn (Richard) Buggs of Buchanan, TN, Carol (David) Revolinski of Caledonia, Nancy Hemmens of Rockford, IL and Shirley (Eugene) Goodwin of Garden Prairie, IL; many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant brother, James Walker; a sister, Marilyn Walker, a nephew Robbie Walker, brother-in-law, Chuck Hemmens; and grandson Troy Roberts. A Memorial Service will be held at CONCORDIA UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, 585 5th St., Prairie du Sac, at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 21, 2009 with Pastor Jeff Virchow officiating. Friends may call at the church after 10:00 a.m. The family wishes to express its deep thanks and love to Sarah Beffa, who cared for him so diligently during his courageous fight.
