Dorothy Virginia Barber, age 86, reunited with her husband and sons on Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at her home surrounded by her family.
She was born April 22, 1928 in Illinois the daughter of the late Jesse and Rosa (Carmen) Alexander. She was united in marriage to Eugene L. Barber on October 2, 1949 in Illinois.
Dorothy was a long time member of the Denzer United Methodist Church and Member of the Honey Creek Badgerettes. She enjoyed working at Ski Hi Apple Orchard making pies, and visiting with friends and neighbors. Dorothy had a passion for gardening and flowers. She loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren whom she loved to bake for and play games with.
Dorothy is survived by her daughters, Diana (John) Hutter, Donna (Steve) DeMars, Marsha (Rodney) Key, and son Stanley (Barbara) Barber; grandchildren Angela (Keith), Michael (Louise), Julie, Katie, Brandon (Sonia), Stephanie (Tom), Stacy (Joshua), Zach, Amy, Jessica and Katherine; great-grandchildren, Lianna, Jared, Brad, Clarissa, Jacob, Talia, Jorge, Ulises, Natalie, Isabelle, Benjamin, Emily, Madilyn, Chloe, Brayden, and another due in April; her beloved dog Vicki; brother Carlyle Alexander; sister in-law Jeanette Barber and brother in-law John Bridson. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Eugene on January 7, 2010 and two sons, Dennis Wayne and Louis Edwin Barber.
A funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, January 24, 2015 at Denzer United Methodist Church, E. 7519 Cty. Hwy C. A visitation will be held from 10:00 am until time of service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Denzer United Methodist Church or Home Health United Hospice, Baraboo.
