Dorothy E. Schadler, age 91, died on Sunday, October 5, 2008 at HospiceCare, Inc. in Fitchburg. She was born on November 10, 1916, the daughter of the late Alfred and Emma (Moe) Everson and baptized and confirmed at Vermont Lutheran Church. She was united in marriage to Alfred Schadler on October 9, 1940 in Mount Horeb. Together they farmed the Schadler homestead in Mazomanie for over fifty years. The couple celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1990. He preceded her in death on December 18, 1992. Dorothy was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Mazomanie and the Old Halfway Prairie Homemakers Club. She is survived by a son, Philip (Sherry) Schadler of Mazomanie; a daughter, (Janice (Gerald) Olson of Mazomanie; 6 grandchildren, Travis Schadler of Mazomanie, Trygve Schadler of Middleton, Chelsey and Courtney Schadler of Kenosha, Todd Olson and Kevin (Chris) Olson, both of Mazomanie; a great-grandson, Gavin Olson; sister-in-law, Janet Everson of Spring Green; a special cousin, Joan (Bill) Ayers of Lodi; cousins, Jim Everson of Black Earth and Rev. Curtis Everson of Madison; a special sister-in-law, Elinor Schadler of California. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Lowell Everson. Funeral services will be held at ST. JOHN'S LUTHERAN CHURCH, Mazomanie, at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, October 9, 2008 with Pastor Rob Nelson officiating. Burial will follow in Mazomanie Cemetery. Friends may call at HOOVERSON FUNERAL HOME, Highway 14 West, Mazomanie, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 8, 2008 and also at the church on Thursday, one hour prior to the service.
