Doward Duane Richard, age 85, passed away in the comfort of his own home in the Honey Creek Township on Dec. 19, 2020.  He was born in Willow City, North Dakota to the late Omer and Laura (Cole) Richard on Mar. 26, 1935 the day before his high school sweetheart Helen Emery.  Doward grew up working on the family farm and came to Wisconsin when he was 15.  Doward and Helen were united in marriage on October 4th, 1952; she preceded him in death on Oct. 11, 2012.  Doward was a talented finish carpenter and worked in the Sauk Prairie area for many years with Lachmund Lumber, Wipperfurth Construction, Louis Setzke, and Setzke Custom Homes.  He enjoyed fishing and time spent at the cottage up north with his family.  He and Helen lived in Honey Creek Township and loved their many animals on their hobby farm.

He is survived by four children, Rick (Terri), Lea Tourdot, Cindy (Mark) Bender, and Scott (Johannah Breunig); eleven grandchildren, Mark, Jessica Calvo, Wade Tourdot, Wendy Pierce, Travis, Ryan, Dana, Bridget Rhyner, Darcy, and Kari;

along with seventeen great-grandchildren, Ridge, Josephine, Deakin, Emerson, Dalton, McKayla, Hunter, Tammarin, Tristin, TJ, Sawyer, Johanna, Colton, Troy, Isaiah, Sierra, Savannah, Emma,  and Dylan; great great grandchildren, Graham and Ruger.  He is further survived by his close cousin, Russell (Judy) Richard, other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents and wife, Helen, he was preceded in death by a son, Danver Richard, and siblings,  Omer Richard Jr., Delores (Elmer) Reuter, Maxine (John) David, and Leonard Richard.

A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
