Duane M. Brickl, age 66 died unexpectedly on Sunday, October 12, 2008 at his home. He was born in Plain on February 18, 1942, the son of the late Michael and Loretta (Aron) Brickl. He was united in marriage to Marilyn Alt on May 9, 1964. Duane served in the Army from 1960-1963. He was employed at Oscar Mayer for 35 years retiring in 2004. He was currently employed by the Girl Scouts of Black Hawk. He enjoyed playing the piano and spending time with his granddaughter. He was a member of St. Aloysius Parish and the Knights of Columbus, Council #3099. He is survived by his wife, Marilyn; three sons, Dean of Prairie du Sac, Craig of Massachusetts, and Douglas of North Freedom; a granddaughter, Lori; a brother, Leon (Betty) of Rochelle, IL; two sisters, Ellen (Jay Jerrett of Baraboo and Dorothy (Cyril) Heiser of Plain; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by a brother, Richard; a sister, Rita; and an infant nephew. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Aloysius Catholic Church on Thursday, Oct. 16 at 11:30 AM with Fr. Jared Hood officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Friends may call on Thursday from 10:30 until time of service at Hooverson Funeral Home.
