Obituary

Earl William Reible died at home on October 29, surrounded by his family. Born July 2, 1937, Earl grew up near Roxbury on the Reible family farm, a place that remained special to him throughout his life. He worked many jobs, sometimes two at a time, ultimately retiring from a machinist position at Milwaukee Valve.

He married Sadie (Block) in 1957, and they raised nine children together: Ann (Eric) Cook; Greg (Linda Lawson); Mike (Angie Miller); Scott; Bruce (Christy Fleischer); Cindy (Mike) Bubolz; Jon (Tami Persons); Michelle (Jeff) Danczyk; and Tammy (Brian) Linaberry. Earl showered his 15 grandchildren, their significant others, and his 13 great grandchildren with love, and they continue to use his Earlisms and to tell his goofy jokes.

He was immensely proud of the house he lived in on Polk Street for 54 years, but he also loved his house in Chandler, Arizona. When he was home in Wisconsin, Earl showed up six days a week at 5 a.m. at Wellspring, where he loved the chat as much as the exercise.

For 20+ years, on Wednesday nights he played euchre with his group at Grandma Mary's in Arena. He loved taking risks with low hands and bragging about his wins when he got home.

Earl was preceded in death by his son Scott, his infant daughter Vicki, his grandson Derek, his parents, five brothers, three sisters, and numerous other relatives and friends.

Thanks to wonderful neighbors and to Agrace Hospice, especially Kevin, for the kindness and support they have shown Earl and his family. During his final weeks, he asked repeatedly how he got so lucky, and the response from so many to him was that he reaped what he sowed.

Earl's family will host a celebration of his life next 4th of July weekend, when he normally would have hosted his annual birthday bash.

In addition to shooting the breeze, Earl loved flowers, so if an honorarium gives you solace please consider plantings in his name or memorials to a charity of your choice.

"See you around, if you don't turn square."
