Edna Florence Lauer, age 100, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Sept. 25, 2021 at Maplewood Nursing Home, Sauk City.  She was born in Stanley, WI. on April 10, 1921 to the late Richard and Anna (Schmidt) Paap.  Edna was united in marriage to Robert Kenneth Lauer; he preceded her in death on Jan. 9, 1971.  Edna was a busy housewife raising her family and on weekends she would work at Walker's Dining Room restaurant in the WestPoint Township.  She was a very accomplished cook and baked pies for many years for Hegerfeldt's Restaurant.  Edna later went on to work at Graber's Window Fashions in Middleton where she worked for 6 years until her retirement.  She enjoyed her beautiful flower gardens, took pride in keeping her lawn looking nice, doing word search puzzles and spending time with family especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughter, Sheila (Rolly) Froese; sons, Bruce (Betty) and Bryce (Nadine) Lauer; grandchildren, Rob (Chloe) Lauer, Brian (Shana) Froese, Cory (Jolene) Froese, Brett (Michelle) Lauer and Carson Lauer; 8 great-grandchildren, Josie and Kerry Lauer, Landon, Gavin and Gatlin Froese, Alex, Issac and Chloe Lindegard; she is further survived by a brother, George (Ruth) Paap; niece, Diane Hanson; nephews, Rick and Bryan Paap.  In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded by her sisters, Hattie (Henry) Hanson and Florence (Omer) Thorpe.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, Oct. 1, 2021 at St. John's Lutheran Church, 100 Oak St., Prairie du Sac.  A visitation will be held from 9:00 am until the time of service, the use of face masks will be required.  A private family burial will be held in the Prairie du Sac Cemetery.

Edna's family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the wonderful caregivers at Maplewood Nursing Home-Memory Care Unit and to Agrace Hospice for their loving care.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Agrace Hospice in Edna's name.
