Edward "Eddie" James Hayes, age 97, died on Sunday, April 11, 2010 at Heartland Country Village in Black Earth. Eddie was born December 4, 1912 in Mazomanie to the late John and Nora (Hudson) Hayes. Eddie was a World War II Veteran having served in the Army. Eddie was a carpenter for Milwaukee Railroad and later for the University of Wisconsin. He was a avid sports fan and really enjoyed the Wisconsin Badgers and the Green Bay Packers. He was a member of St. Barnabas Catholic Church and the Greening-Buelow American Legion Post 437 of Mazomanie.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by 2 brothers and 1 sister.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, April 14, 2010 at 10:00 am at St. Barnabas Catholic Church in Mazomanie with Fr. Jared Hood officiating. Burial with Military Honors will follow at the church cemetery. Friends may call from 5pm until 7pm on Tuesday, April 13, at HOOVERSON FUNERAL HOME, Hwy 14 West, Mazomanie.
