Edward J. Neumaier, age 85, died June 1, 2011. He was the son of Edward L. and Anna (Ganser) Neumaier. He served in the Navy during WWII and received a bronze star at the battle of Okinawa. Ed married Cynthia Turkelson in 1950. During his life he owned a gas station and a billiards hall. He also worked at Badger Ordnance and UW Library. But it was his careers at Winiger's and Red Owl Bakeries that brought out his true talent; a baker. With Cynthia at his side Ed made cakes beautifully decorated with his delicious secret recipe for butter cream icing.
Ed is survived by his daughters, Debra Litscher of Baraboo, Lorie (Dale) Coenen of Sauk City and Leslie (Carleton) Kuenning of Madison; seven grandchildren; and 6+ great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Cynthia; sister Helen O'Donnell; brothers, Roman, Roland and Maurice; and son-in-law, Lawrence Litscher.
Ed's daughters would like his friends and family to join them Friday, July 8, 2011 at the Dorf Haus in Roxbury from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Share a story, a bite to eat and a drink in memory of Ed.
