Edwin "Eddie" Patka, age 90, died on Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2009, at Maplewood of Sauk Prairie following a short illness. He was born on Sept. 21, 1918, the son of the late Ferdinand and Eleanora (Necas) Patka. Maplewood of Sauk Prairie had been his home since 1978. Though Eddie had multiple handicaps, he brought much joy to those who cared for and visited him. A celebration of Eddie's life will take place at Maplewood of Sauk Prairie on Friday, Jan. 30, 2009, at 1:30 p.m. with Pastor Bill Kapp officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials to First United Church of Christ, Sauk City are preferred.
