Edwin F. Schroeder, age 94, passed away June 19, 2021 at Greenway Manor in Spring Green.
He was born in Reedsburg, WI on November 15, 1926, the son of Frederick and Iva (Buss) Schroeder.
Edwin went to Rural Reedsburg Area School, graduated the 8th grade, he joined the Navy in 1944-1946 on the U.S.S. Birmingham (CL-62), he was stationed in Australia. He served for 18 months.
He was united in marriage to Betty Wade on February 15, 1947 after 6 months of meeting each other, they celebrated 57 years of marriage prior to Betty's passing in October 2004.
Edwin was a farmer, bus driver/mechanic at Jelco Bus Company, owner of Edwin Schroeder Milk Service, selling his milk route in 1988, he also worked full time for L&R Adler until retirement, he enjoyed spending time with family, picnics, restoring tractors, woodworking, trips to Canada fishing, traveling. In 2013, he took his first airplane trip with Badger Honor Flight. Edwin was a member of Vermont Lutheran Church and VFW of Black Earth.
He is survived by his children: Sharon (Jim) Lomas, Lena IL., Harlan Schroeder, Blue Mounds, Norman Schroeder, Blue Mounds, Eileen (Greg) Zander, Cross Plains, Allen (Lauri) Schroeder, Mazomanie, 8 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and 9 great great grandchildren, a sister Bonnie Staerz, Carol Stream IL, 3 sister in laws Karen Schroeder, Baraboo, Marylu (Verlin) Klingaman, Lone Rock, Bertha Thompson, Mt. Horeb, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Edwin is preceded by his parents, Frederick and Iva (Buss) Schroeder, his mother and father in law, Harold and Blanche (Ray) Wade, wife Betty (Wade) Schroeder, infant son Russell Schroeder, infant granddaughter Peggy Lawler, brother Loren Schroeder, brothers in law Ronald Staerz, James Wade, Lester Moore, son in laws Don Cook and Mitchell Lawler.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am on July 1, 2021 at Hooverson Funeral Home, Sauk City, WI. Military Honors will follow. Visitation will be from 10:00 - 11:00 prior to the funeral.
