Obituary

Eileen (Chrisler) Williams was born September 9, 1918 on a farm on Gastrow Road in the Town of Westpoint, Columbia County, WI. Her parents were Harley and Clara (Neitzel) Chrisler. She graduated from Lodi High School in 1935. On February 10, 1940, she married David D. Williams, son of D.D. and Daisy (Chrislaw) Williams. They had one daughter, Nancy, now a resident of the Sauk County Health Care Facility. The Williams family lived in various places in the Lodi area, on Dunroven Farm near Dane, in Madison, the Town of Westpoint and the Mazomanie area. After David's death, Eileen moved to a condo in Sauk City. While living in Lodi in the 1950's she gave "parties" selling "House of Stewart" beauty products. David was the owner and operator of Williams Building Movers and Eileen was always the bookkeeper for the business. Eileen and David enjoyed playing cards, square dancing, country music and traveling throughout the United States, Canada and Mexico, but especially their annual trips to Brownsville, TX. For many years, Eileen was a member of the Methodist Church, but after moving to the Mazomanie area, she joined the United Church of Christ and later affiliated with that denomination in Sauk City. She was also a member of the Mazomanie Eastern Star and Garden Club. Since 2003, Eileen has been a resident of The Pines Assisted Living and later at Pine Villa in Prairie du Sac where the caring staff made her last few years very pleasant. She especially enjoyed playing Euchre and endeared herself to the staff as well as the other residents with her sweet nature, sense of humor and snappy repartee. On February 14, 2009 Eileen passed away at Maplewood Nursing Home. She is survived by her daughter, Nancy; two sisters-in-law, Eleanor Drury of Portage and Mary Mair of Lodi, their families and four cousins. She is further survived by Patti (Gottschall) and Bob Schuknecht of Lodi and their family, Schoen and Patti Schuknecht, Derek and Tara of Hudson, Shelagh (Schuknecht) and Steve Munroe, Grady and Ceilidh of St. Albans, Vermont, Glen Haug of Grenora, North Dakota, as well as many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by an infant brother, her husband, David, September 8, 1992 and Cheri (Schuknecht) Haug, November 12, 2001. Funeral services will be held at HOOVERSON FUNERAL HOME, Sauk City, at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 17, 2009 with Pastor Bill Kapp officiating. Burial will be in Garden Bluff Cemetery, Westpoint Township. Friends may call at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. The family is grateful to Dr. Koch, Dr. Varley, Dr. Taylor and the staff at The Pines, Pine Villa, Sauk Prairie Memorial Hospital and Maplewood for their care and thoughtfulness.
