Elaine Evelyn Gray, age 86, passed away Fri. Dec. 8, 2017 at St. Mary's Hospital in Madison. She was born at home in Mazomanie on June 20, 1931 to the late Cyrus and Mabel (Huset) Jordan. Elaine graduated from Mazomanie High School; class of 1950. She was united in marriage to Gordon Ernest Gray on Oct. 20, 1950; he preceded her in death on Feb. 3, 2014. Elaine formerly worked at Badger Ordinance Ammunition Plant, Grabers, University of Wisconsin Physical Plant and retired from U.W. Hospital; what she relished the most was raising her children. She enjoyed reading, her flower gardens, roller-skating and dancing. Elaine was an animal lover and exceptional cook. She was a member of St. Martens Lutheran Church in Cross Plains.

She is survived by her children, Janet Gray of Cross Plains, Jerry Gray of Fitchburg, Sue (Jeff) Ruegsegger of Queen Creek, Az., Judy (Mark) Stewart of Lodi; 11 grandchildren, Kelly (Timin), Shaun, Ashley (Colin), Jessica, Brandon, Desiree, Drew, Allison, Megan, Emily, Alec; 4 great grand-children, Gavin, Jade, Vica and Torben; her sister, Beverly Ladd; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son Gary Gray and a sister Lois (Evert) Reeve.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Wed. Dec. 13, 2017 at Hooverson Funeral Home, Hwy. 14 West, Mazomanie. A visitation will be held from 11:00 am until the time of service. Burial will follow in the Mazomanie Cemetery.
