Elaine D. Hanks, 80, passed away Monday, December 14, 2009 at HospiceCare in Fitchburg. She was born to the late Harley and Loretta (Ertmer) Reasoner in Beloit on September 4, 1929. Elaine graduated from Catholic Community High School in Sterling, IL., in 1947. She married Harry Hanks on Jan. 16, 1954. Together they lived in the town of Westpoint for many years. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends and was always ready for a good game of euchre or 500. Elaine worked at DHIA for 25 years retiring in 1990. She was a longtime member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church and enjoyed teaching religious education for several years.

Survivors include three children, Jean (Arden) Ballweg of Dane,
Joseph Hanks of Oregon, and
Dave (Angela) Hanks of Clarksville, TN; two sisters, Sr. Mary Joyce Reasoner of St. Louis, MO. and Nancy (Ed) Geiger of Milwaukee; a brother, Tom (Lucy) Reasoner of Milwaukee; eleven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry on Oct. 23, 2006 and a son, Edwin R. Hanks.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Sauk City at 11:30 AM Friday, Dec. 18 with Fr. Jared Hood officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 9:00 until 11:15 on Friday at the funeral home
