IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Elaine E.
Lochner
January 31, 1929 – November 13, 2023
Prairie du Sac, WI
Elaine Elizabeth Lochner (Henn), age 94 of Prairie du Sac, passed away peacefully on November 13, 2023. She was the wife of the late Jerome V. Lochner of whom she was married to for 68 years. The daughter of Bernard and Emma (Willey) Henn of Sauk City born on January 31, 1929.
Growing up with 2 sisters on her parent's farm in Sauk City created many memories and stories she liked to share about doing chores before going to school and the adventures they had. She missed her sisters dearly the past few years.
Elaine was a very beloved wife and proud Mother of 5, Grandmother of 10 and Great Grandmother of 9. She was a very kind, gracious women who never complained. Elaine enjoyed helping Jerry build successful businesses, supporting him all along the way while raising their family. They both were very active in the community. Financially supporting many causes as well volunteering where and when needed. Jerry and Elaine played a key role in bringing the Sauk Prairie Memorial Hospital to fruition. The story was that Elaine wanted a hospital in town before she would start a family with Jerry.
She loved family get togethers and supplying food for all. Sundays at the lake were a favorite memory she created for so many. In her retirement, she and Jerry enjoyed traveling the world, golfing and wintering in Arizona with their many friends. She had a silent strength that guided her through her life. Her children recall how she could "nudge" them which was her way of encouraging and challenging them to do better.
Grandkids have memories of her baking and crafting with them, attending the many sporting events and dance recitals. She always had a hug, a beautiful smile and words of encouragement for each one of them. She had a way of making each of them feel as though they were her favorite and joking would say that. Her love of birds, snowman and Santa's and collecting them will not be forgotten.
Holiday gatherings were important to her and the Christmas Gift openings were legendary and marathons as she insisted it was one gift at a time always starting with the youngest. The new boyfriends and girlfriends of the family were always given the token jar of peanuts as their gifts.
Years later the family discovered all the chocolate covered cherries that were given to Jerry as gifts because Elaine told all he loved them were actually her favorites all along. Jerry finally shared he never liked them.
Elaine is survived by her children: Bob (Patty Burton), Dennis (Sharon Louise), Sandy (Joe Lease), Fred (Luanne), Sharon Ann Lochner Mack. Grandchildren: Jordan (Greg) Mills, Courtney Lochner, Sarah (Chris) Meuler, Tom (Leslie) Lochner, Griff (Kate) Lochner, Dylan (Hillary) Mack, Cody Mack, Tayla Lochner, Jayda Lochner and Katie Mack.
