Elaine Eleanore Wilhelm, age 99, passed away on January 24, 2024 at The Pines Assisted Living, in Prairie du Sac, Wisconsin. Elaine was born February 29, 1924, in Troy Township, Sauk County, Wisconsin, the daughter of Clarence and Clara (Rieser) Walster. She attended the Harrisburg one room school for eight years and graduated from Prairie du Sac High School in 1942. During the war years she became a Woman Ordnance Worker (WOW), at Badger Army Ammunitions Plant. In 1945 she married Eldred "Allie" Wilhelm when he returned from overseas service in Europe. They farmed on the homestead of Elaine's birth working side by side to make a loving home for their four children.

Elaine's family and their farm were the most important things in her life. Working together on the farm and sharing time with her husband and family brought her great joy. Elaine was a dedicated gardener, seamstress, cook, and baker. With her sewing, she created many beautiful quilts for her family. She was a life-long member of the Black Hawk Church, committed to the values of the church and service to the church. Elaine was a member of the Harrisburg Homemakers for 78 years. She helped preserve the history of Troy Township through participation in writing the book, "Troy Tales and Trails," and through creation of a mural of historic sites which hangs at the Troy Township Hall.

Elaine is survived by her daughters, Marie Wilhelm (Andy Davidson), Joanne Wilhelm (Barry Rubin), and Roberta Dischler (Rodney Dischler); daughter-in-law, Christine (Nolden) Wilhelm; sister, Carol Price (William); grandchildren, Jacob (Kim) Wilhelm, Amanda (Dusty) Siemers, Alex Rubin, Daniel Rubin, Rachel Dischler, Collin Dischler; great grandchildren, Dylan Siemers, Cayden Siemers, Tyler Wilhelm, Luke Wilhelm, and Ben Wilhelm.

Elaine was preceded in death by her husband, Allie, son, Wally Wilhelm, and brother-in-law, Bill Price.

The family would like to thank the staff at The Pines Assisted Living and Agrace Hospice for the wonderful care and support they gave Elaine.
