Eldoris A. Lovell, age 91, of Prairie du Sac passed away on Friday, February 13, 2026 at The Pines Assisted Living. Eldoris was born on April 12, 1934 in Loganville to the late Frederick and Martha (Harms) Thies. She was a graduate of Reedsburg High School class of 1952. She was united in marriage to Lawrence "Larry" Lovell on July 28, 1956 in Loganville. He preceded her in death on September 22, 2007, after 51 years of marriage.
After raising her five children, Eldoris worked at the Sauk Prairie Middle School in the Library for 29 years. In retirement, she and Larry liked to travel and visit with relatives and friends.
Eldoris is survived by her five children and their spouses, Dan (Kathy) of Prairie du Sac, Debbie (Dan) O'Connell of Mazomanie, Rick (Julie) of Tempe, Ariz., Terry (Bonnie) of Sauk City, and Dean (Sherri) of Reedsburg. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren, her sister, Gert Struck; brothers, Orrlen (Sharon) Thies and Ed (Koke) Thies.
In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Jamie Costlow, a grandson Greg McKnight and her brothers, Phillip Thies(infant), and Fritz (Margaret) Thies; her sister, Mary (Allan) Dwars and in-laws Ray Struck and Glee Thies.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2026 from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Hooverson Funeral Home, 251 Water St., Sauk City. A funeral service for Eldoris will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, Feb. 19, 2026 at St. John's Lutheran Church, 100 Oak St., Prairie du Sac with Pastor Tom Kries officiating, a visitation will be held one hour prior to the service the morning of the service at the church. Burial will follow at the Prairie du Sac Cemetery.
Eldoris' family wishes to thank Dr. Maribeth Baker, Kevin and his staff from Agrace Hospice, the staff at Maplewood Village and the staff at The Pines Assisted Living for all the compassionate care they provided her. Eldoris appreciated all the visits and help she received from family and friends over the years and especially from her good friend, Julie Wartzok.
Memorials may be made in Eldoris' name to Agrace Hospice.
