Elizabeth "Betty" Bertrand passed on March 17 at University Hospital surrounded by loved ones. She was born in Kankakee, Illinois on August 17, 1926 and graduated from St. Patrick's High School. She married her husband Vernon on October 12, 1946. They lived in Chicago and Wheeling, Illinois then moved to Lodi, Wisconsin in 1975. Betty is survived by her husband and 11 grateful children: Cindy Smith, Lee Bertrand, Laura Presberry, Marty Bertrand, Mary Sue Benigni, Annette Tepper, Janette Bertrand, Carol Schneider, Brian Bertrand, Michelle Bertrand and Angie Pfeffer, as well as 20 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Margaret Paschke and brother, Leon Messier. She is preceded in death by her sons, Kenny and Joseph.

Betty will be interred at Garden Bluff Cemetery on Friday, March 23rd after a private service at Hooverson's Funeral Home in Sauk City, Wisconsin. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
