Elizabeth L. "Betty" Sutcliffe, 76, passed away on Monday, October 17, 2011 at Heartland Country Village, Black Earth. She was born March 2, 1935 in Mazomanie, the daughter of the late Otto and Olive (Hawley) Schultz. She was married to Robert E. Sutcliffe on January 30, 1955. She enjoyed the outdoors, camping, walking and crocheting. Betty was a member of St. Barnabas Catholic Church and the American Legion Auxiliary #437. She will be missed by her family and her dog, Booters.
Survivors include her husband, Robert "Smokey"; two sons, Thomas (Donna) and Richard (Liz); five grandchildren, Kristine, Stacy and Sandra Sutcliffe, and Richie and Dusty Sutcliffe; a great-granddaughter, Skyla; two brothers, James (Donna) Schultz and Jack (Ila) Schultz; other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Robert "Bobby" Jr., a sister, Carol Kahl and a brother, Eugene Schultz.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, Oct. 21 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Barnabas Catholic Church, Mazomanie with Fr. Alex Navarro officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 20, 2011 at Hooverson Funeral Home, 702 Emily Rd., Mazomanie.
