Eulogio Alfonso Garduno-Zuniga

Eulogio Alfonso Garduño-Zúñiga, 75, originally of Mexico City, Mexico, passed away peacefully at his home in North Freedom, Wisconsin, on Sunday, June 28, 2026, surrounded by his loving family after suffering from multiple strokes and dementia. He went home to be with the Lord.

Born on January 21, 1950, in Mexico City, Mexico, Alfonso was one of eleven children born to the late Sebastián Garduño and Josefa Zúñiga-Ruiz. From a young age, he developed a remarkable work ethic, helping provide for his family. Through years of dedication and perseverance, he purchased his own land, where he farmed from sunrise to sundown. He also fulfilled his dream of opening a convenience store near his home, which served his community seven days a week.

On August 30, 1975, Alfonso married the love of his life, Susana Garcia, at San Miguel Arcángel Catholic Church in Temascalcingo, Mexico. Together they built a life centered on faith, family, and hard work, welcoming their first son the following year.

In 1992, Alfonso immigrated to the United States in search of greater opportunities for his family. He continued his lifelong commitment to hard work, holding various jobs, including at Sunny's Industries. Following the factory's closure, he found a home at The Wilderness Golf Club, where he worked in landscaping and grounds maintenance. He took great pride in caring for the beautiful outdoor spaces he loved so much.

Alfonso had a deep appreciation for nature and cherished spending time outdoors. Fishing was one of his greatest joys, and some of his happiest moments were spent casting a line with his grandchildren, creating memories they will treasure forever.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Sebastián Garduño and Josefa Zúñiga-Ruiz; several siblings; his grandparents; and many other beloved family members.

Alfonso is lovingly survived by his devoted wife of over 50 years, Susana Garcia; his children, Jose Garduño-Garcia (Argelia), Eduardo Garduño-Garcia (Alejandra), and Joan Garduño-Garcia (Guadalupe); and his cherished grandchildren, Leslie Lezama (Cesar), Omar Zaldivar, Christian Garduño, Kenya Garcia, Leonardo Garduño (Esmeralda), Molly Zaldivar, Camilia Garduño, and Neymar Garduño. He also leaves behind a few siblings, extended family members, and dear friends who will miss him greatly.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate hospice team at Agrace, especially Nurse Kevin, whose kindness, companionship, and exceptional care brought comfort not only to Alfonso but to his entire family during his final days.

Alfonso's legacy of hard work, unwavering devotion to his family, deep faith, and love of the outdoors will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
