Obituary

Evelyn F. (Kindschuh) Sprecher, age 99, of Sauk City, went to be with the Lord on Thur. Feb. 11, 2016; 16 years after the love of her life, Virgil W. Sprecher passed away Feb. 13, 2000. She was a resident of Maplewood of Sauk City for over 12 years and had an extended battle with Alzheimer's.

Evelyn was born May 16, 1916 in the Town of Byron to William and Lydia (Fenner) Kinschuh. She graduated from Lomira High School as the Valedictorian, class of 1934. She married Virgil W. Sprecher of Witwen, Oct. 28, 1937. Together they farmed in the Troy Township for 62 years until they sold the farm in 1999. Evelyn was a member of the Bethlehem United Methodist Church in Blackhawk. She enjoyed gardening, word puzzles, cooking and canning and was known for her chocolate chip cookies.

Evelyn will be missed by her adopted children, Dave (Deb Bartnick) Sprecher of Sauk City, and Linda Jean (Dennis) Bieri of Belleville; a former daughter in-law, Christine Sprecher; her special grandchildren, Becky (Matthew) Slotty of Prairie du Sac, Chad Sprecher of Mazomanie, Angie (Kevin) Volk of Reedsburg, Sabrina (Brian) Jacobus of Belleville and Casey (Eric) Hayes of Madison; great-grandchildren, Marrah Evelyn (Shawn Niles) Slotty of North Freedom, Emma Slotty of Prairie du Sac, Trystan Sprecher of Lodi, Brian Steven Jacobus II of Belleville and a precious great-great grand-daughter, Khloe Niles of North Freedom.

She is further survived by a sister, Doris Koenig of Sauk City, a brother, William (Marta) Kindschuh of Lincoln City, Or., brother in-law, Kenneth Nott of Monroe; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Nieta Hayes and Lois O'Rourke.

Evelyn's family would like to thank the entire Maplewood Staff for their wonderful care and support.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Tues. Feb. 16, 2016 at Bethlehem United Methodist Church. A visitation will be held from 1:00 pm until the time of service. Interment will be held in the church cemetery at a later date.
