Obituary

Ewald Hans Hermann Hansen, age 92, passed away at the Pines in Prairie du Sac on Fri. Apr., 8, 2016. He was born Sept. 17, 1923 in Dorsten, Germany to the late Ewald and Anna (Glander) Hansen. Ewald served in the Germany Army as a Tank Commander until the end of WWII. He married Elisabeth Lehr on Mar. 3, 1945; she preceded him in death on Jul. 28, 2010. After the end of the War, Ewald, Elisabeth and their son Hermann moved to Wisconsin. While in Germany, Ewald served a Printing Apprenticeship and mastered the Heidelberg Press. He worked at Littel Printers in Madison for over 30 years, retiring in 1988. He was an avid outdoorsman; he enjoyed fishing, hunting, raising German Shorthaired Pointers, and spending winters in Arizona. Ewald was a member of the Madison Area German Club and St. John's Lutheran Church in Prairie du Sac.

He is survived by his son, Hermann (Barbara) Hansen of Browntown, WI; 3 grandsons, Chris of Phoenix, AZ., Jon (Brandy) and Jamie (Amanda) both of Spokane, WA., 5 great-grandchildren, Journey, Jon Jr., Conner, Lincoln, and Annaka; a sister, Inge (Ludwig) Neuhaus of Madison. He is further survived by other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents and wife, Elisabeth; he was preceded in death by a brother, Hermann.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am on Fri. Apr. 15, 2016 at St. John's Lutheran Church, 100 Oak St., Prairie du Sac, WI. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
