Obituary

Fauhn Noreen (Lipke) Breunig
September 5, 1946 - July 5, 2025
It is with deep sorrow; yet rejoicing, that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend who is now in the arms of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Fauhn was born the 11th of 14 children to Lawrence and Elva (Chatfield) Lipke in Baraboo, WI. Despite the fact that her childhood was incredibly difficult and she struggled much of her life with the ill effects of it, she was well known for the unconditional love she gave to everyone around her. She was a pillar of love, grace, gentleness, generosity and selflessness. Her humble, servant heart was her natural and spiritual calling.

Fauhn married Lyle Breunig in 1964, and together they raised a family of four children: Richard "Dick" Breunig (Cynthia), Amy Breunig, Daniel "Dan" Breunig (Tracy) and Wendy Crockett.

She was known as "Gram" to some of her 9 grandchildren: Candice Kaiser (Elijah "Eli" Miller), Amanda Crockett, Brittney Frey (Mike), Chad Breunig (Abby), Kathrine "Kaydee" Eichmann (Corey), Ian Crockett (Taylor), Elizabeth "Betsy" Snider (Ricky), Jacob "Jay" Breunig and Sierra Cowan (Dustin).

When Fauhn became a great grandmother, she was lovingly referred to as "Gigi". Her 10 great grandchildren are: Kyia Snider, Maverick Kaiser, Kane Frey, Everett Kaiser, Cameron Crockett, Brody Breunig, Brewer Frey, Leonidas "Leo" Snider, Parker Eichmann and Chloe Breunig. Gigi was famous for getting down on the floor to play with them. Favorites were her horsey-rides and storytelling!

When her boys were teenagers, Fauhn planted the seed in the community of her desire for a local hockey team. Initially, two mothers jumped on board, and through sheer determination, more people joined their efforts, and the Sauk Prairie Flyers were born! Today, the Flyers are now the Sauk Prairie Eagles, a WIAA accredited hockey team.

Several years later, life for Fauhn was spent in San Diego, CA, where she struggled tremendously with the trauma of her childhood. Amidst the pain and suffering, she asked Jesus into her heart, and she became a born-again Christ-follower. Amidst the growing pains, she never stopped serving others, and as a result, went on mission trips to Guatemala and Mexico. Many years later, she traveled to Thailand to minister to sex-trafficked children.

The Lord eventually called Fauhn back to the Sauk Prairie area to be with her family. She joined GraceWay Church and found an entirely new family there too. She worked there and fostered very deep relationships with congregation members. She also became very involved at 6:8, a local, non-profit, Christian organization. Fauhn's servant heart had no bounds and her caring, gentle, unconditional love will always remain in the hearts of those who considered it a privilege to be with her.

Fauhn was preceded in death by her parents, six of her 7 brothers, son-in-love Paul Crockett, grandson-in-love Paul Kaiser and granddaughter Amanda Crockett.

There are not enough words to express the deep gratitude Fauhn's family extends to all of the Agrace hospice staff in Fitchburg, WI, including home hospice nurses, Kevin and Megan. Fauhn also wished to acknowledge the close relationships she had with those at GraceWay Church and at 6:8. You all made her feel blessed beyond measure.

Services will be held on Friday, July 18, 2025, at GraceWay Church, 65 13th Street, Prairie du Sac, WI 53578. Visitation begins at 2:00 PM with memorial service following at 4:00 PM.

Per Fauhn's desire, her testimony has been included.

For 52 years, I suffered from the ill effects of my childhood. In October of 1999, Jesus Christ entered my heart, and my life changed as I became a born-again Christ-follower. The first 2.5 years following my conversion were spent sitting on the floor beside my bed, revisiting past wounds. I knew I needed to be healed of this pain, so, scared and crying, I would call out for Jesus to help me. Jesus would reassure me that He was right beside me and I would be ok. He not only stopped the bleeding but healed the wounds that were so raw. He changed me from the inside out and made me a new creation! As He walked me through this time, the pain and guilt were removed; however, the shame remained for 18 more years. After watching Rich Mullin's movie titled "Ragamuffin", where he was healed from his shame, I lay on my bed and asked Jesus: "You healed him, won't you please heal me?" He graciously did that very night in a soft and gentle miracle!

That is why the story of Legion in the book of Mark is so precious to me. Jesus not only commanded the demons to come out of the man, but He clothed him and put him in his right mind! Jesus did that for me!! As a matter of fact, He has done it for each one who has believed in Him and is now a child of God. It doesn't matter what you have done … it doesn't matter what people have done to you … and it doesn't matter how young or how old you might be. Jesus is the answer. He will clothe you and put you in your right mind, if only you will ask Him to forgive your disbelief and become your Lord and Savior.

I'd like to challenge everyone who is listening or reading this message. Carry on the work of the Lord Jesus Christ. May obedience to the One and Only True God be your heart-felt desire.
