Florence Emma Ganser, age 82, died on Saturday, March 28, 2008 at Maplewood Nursing Home in Sauk City. She was born in Prairie du Sac on July 18, 1926 to the late August and Molly (Gergolla) Guetzkow. Florence graduated from Prairie du Sac High School, and worked as a dry cleaner in Sauk Prairie for many years. She married Arthur Ganser September 3, 1977, he preceded her in death on December 23, 1994. She was a lifelong member of St. John Lutheran Church in Prairie du Sac and an active member for over 50 years volunteering as attendance taker, bible study, and part of the circle.
She is survived by
2 brothers, Clarence (Mary Jean) Guetzkow, Madison and Milton (Delores) Guetzkow of Mosinee and a sister in-law Carole Overguard of Cambridge.
Step children, Phyllis Ganser, Margaret (Bill) Haller, Tom (Esther) Ganser, Marlene (Don) Ederer, LouAnn Kraemer, and daughter in laws Patty Ganser and Linda Ganser
A special grand daughter Debbie (Gordy) Richardson, Great grand-daughter BethAnn (Robert) Zick, and great-great grandchildren Emma and Natalie Zick. Special friends Roxanne Grinde and Marian DeGiovanni, many other step grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother Ivan, a sister Alice, an infant sister Lillian, step children Norbert (Maxine) Ganser, Carleton Ganser, David (Shirley) Ganser, LeRoy Ganser, and Jim Ganser.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 2, 2009 at 11am at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Prairie du Sac with Pastor Fred Rilling officiating. Friends may call on Wednesday, April 1, 2009 from 4pm until 7pm at HOOVERSON FUNERAL HOME, Sauk City and Thursday morning at the church one hour prior to service.
