Florence E. Sprecher, age 99, passed away peacefully at Maplewood of Sauk Prairie on Saturday, Aug. 20, 2022.  She was born on December 9, 1922 to the late Andrew and Clara (Schoephoester) Sprecher.  She grew up on the family farm in the township of Honey Creek.  She graduated from Prairie High in 1940 and went on to study education at Reedsburg Normal.  She then got her bachelor's degree at UW-Lacrosse and her masters at UW-Madison.  Florence spent 40 years in education.  Her career began in a one-room school and eventually she finished out her career at Grand Avenue Elementary teaching 6th graders.  Florence enjoyed traveling, quilting, and volunteering at several community agencies.  She was also a member of Black Hawk Bethlehem United Methodist Church.

She is survived by 2 nieces, 9 great nieces and nephews, 15 great-great nieces and nephews, and 1 great-great-great niece.

A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m on Wednesday, Aug. 31, 2022 at Black Hawk Bethlehem United Methodist Church, interment will follow in the church cemetery.

To honor Florence's generous nature and in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Florence's name to either Black Hawk Bethlehem United Methodist Church for outreach services or to the Good Neighbor Clinic of Sauk Prairie.
