Obituary

Fred August Gieck, age 95, passed away at Sauk Prairie Hospital.  He was born at home in the Honey Creek Township on Aug. 27, 1929 to the late George and Elsa (Mallon) Gieck.  He was a lifelong dairy farmer, finally retiring from milking cows in 2002.  He was devoted and proud to carry on his family farm in the Honey Creek Township and proud to have been recognized as a Century Farm in 2013. Fred will be remembered as a soft spoken, hardworking, and good neighbor.

Fred is survived by his brother, Russell and brother in-law, Richard Bruckert; he is further survived by nieces, and nephews, Don (Carol) of North Freedom; Carol of Plain; Ron (Theresa) of TN., Katie (Steve) Graf of Neenah; Denny (Caroline) of Columbus; Barbara Hooker of Baraboo; Jim Hooker of North Freedom; Linda Lee of North Freedom, Sandy (Paul) Barebo of Clayton; Brenda of North Freedom; Angie of TN; Tammy of North Freedom; and Rusty of TN., other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings, George, Clarence, LaVern, Martha "Marty", Irene, Augusta "Gusty".

A funeral service for Fred will be held on Friday, July 25, 2025 at 11:00 am at Hooverson Funeral Home, 251 Water St., Sauk City, WI 53583.  A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.  Interment will be held in the Sauk City Cemetery.
