Gail Margaret Drager, age 94, passed away on Saturday, March 8, 2014 at Sauk Prairie Memorial Hospital. She was born in Hollandale on December 4, 1919 to the late James and Mary (Prohaska) Keyes. Gail married Merle Drager on June 17, 1941 at St. Philip's Catholic Church in Highland. He preceded her in death on January 15, 2000.
She was a long time member of St. Barnabas Catholic Church in Mazomanie. Gail was very proud of her family's restaurant, Drager's Cafe. She was known for her excellent cooking and baking, enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her children, Sharon (Roy) Schlough, of Waunakee, Pat (Anita) Drager of Mazomanie, Jesse (Donna) Drager,of Mazomanie, John (Linda) Drager, of Odessa, TX, Merle Drager of Cedar Rapids, IA, Thomas (Shelley) Drager of Mazomanie, Ned Drager of Martinsville, Debby (Dan) Pertzborn of Waunakee; 23 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law Leora Richgels, of Cross Plains; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three sons, Richard, Mark, and Daniel Drager.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, March 13, 2014 at ST. BARNABAS CATHOLIC CHURCH, Mazomanie. A visitation will be held from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at HOOVERSON FUNERAL HOME, Hwy 14 West, Mazomanie, and also from 10:00 am until 10:45 at the funeral home on the day of service. Burial will follow in the St. Barnabas Cemetery.
