Gary Wayne Alt, age 46, left us peacefully on Friday, January 16, 2009 at Maplewood of Sauk Prairie. He was born in Prairie du Sac on September 9, 1962, the son of Bill and Marsha (Hooks) Alt. Gary graduated from Sauk Prairie High School in 1981. He suffered a severe head injury as the result of a motorcycle accident in 1982, and has spent the last 26 years struggling with his disability. Gary was full of fun, loved sports, deer hunting, and especially rock and roll music. He is survived by his parents, Bill and Marsha Alt of Sauk City; 2 brothers, Jim (Michelle) Alt of Rudolph, WI and Tony Alt of Madison; 2 nieces, Ashley and Nicole Alt of McFarland; his maternal grandmother, Zelpha Hooks of Prairie du Sac; many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. NORBERT'S CATHOLIC CHURCH, Roxbury, at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 20, 2009 with Fr. Miguel Galvez officiating. Friends may call at HOOVERSON FUNERAL HOME, Sauk City, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Monday, January 19, 2009 and also from 10:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
