Gene A. Thiede

Gene Albert Thiede age 89 passed away on 4/5/26 at Sauk Prairie Healthcare.

He was born in North Freedom on 4/3/37, the son of the late Herman and Lyla (Girling) Thiede. He graduated from Baraboo High School and was in the Naval Construction Battalion Reserves. Gene was a very skilled and proud mason and retired from Robertsons Construction after 52 years.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting, race car driving, trap shooting, horseshoes, playing pool, playing cards, was a rodeo rider and owned the Neenah bar. He was known as “Mr. Storyteller” and he loved to give all the little kids dollars.

Gene is survived by his wife, Ann Thiede; two sisters, Joanne (Harold) Miller, Baraboo, WI, Carol (Rick) Davis, Mauston, WI; his children, Rory (Sue) Thiede, Oxford, Wi, Kristine (Arnie) McCoy, Kingman, AZ, and Shane Thiede, Interlachen, FL; stepchildren; Marla (Jim) Campbell, Darcy (Ron) Stevens, Dennis (Sher) Seiler, Cory (Teddy) Seiler; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Gene Walter Thiede of Portage, WI and stepson, Steven Daniel Seiler of Reedsburg, WI.

A private family viewing will be held per Gene’s request.

Gene was a wonderful husband, father, stepdad and grandpa and was liked by everyone.
