Gene A. Weittenhiller, age 72, passed away Jan. 31, 2020 in the comfort of his own home surrounded by his family.  He was born in Washington D.C. on Jan. 18, 1948 to the late Harold and Alta (Schmidt) Weittenhiller.  Gene graduated from the University of Wisconsin, Platteville in 1971 with a B.A. in Business Administration.  He was united in marriage to Linda Karre on Feb. 14, 1980 in Sun Prairie where they made their home for 39 years, raising three children before recently moving to Prairie du Sac.  Gene worked for 32 years for (WHEDA) Wisconsin Housing and Economic Development Authority; retiring in 2015.  He enjoyed fishing, cheering on Wisconsin sports teams, and enjoyed sharing his homebrew with family and friends.

Gene is survived by his wife, Linda and three children, Joshua (Lanccea), Ross (Becky), and Cassie; two grandchildren, Lilly and Amy; aunts, Lucille Fassbender, Helen Piddington, Gloria Schmidt.  He is further survived by several cousins, other relatives and his faithful companion, Caesar.

As per Gene's wishes a private family service was held.

Gene's family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to his family to be used to support Tower Rock School.
