Genevieve E. (Eyers) Von Wald, age 95, of Prairie du Sac, passed away April 28th, 2025, at St Clare Hospital, Baraboo WI. Genevieve was born September 25th,1929 at Methodist Hospital in Madison, WI to Fred and Hazel (Harvey) Eyers. She was a graduate of Baraboo High School.  She lived in CA for five years. She met Merton Von Wald at a roller-skating party, and they later married on January 14th, 1949, at the Little Brown Church in Iowa, they were married for 74 years.

Genevieve loved traveling with Merton, and they spent many years in FL in the winter. Genevieve and Merton owned Sauk Prairie Skateland which was a dream for them. The Rink was missed by both of them, until they passed.

When they were first married, they farmed together for many years.  Genevieve enjoyed gospel music, singing with the Hilltop Gospel singers and going to gospel concerts, she played the guitar and harmonica and was great at writing poetry. She loved spending time with her daughters baking and shopping, and special time spent with her only grandson Jackson.

She is survived by her daughters, Corrine (Jim) Jonas, Prairie du Sac, Karen Laufenberg, of Arena and Nancy (Craig Wilson) of Fond du Lac; grandson, Jackson Wilson, and sister-in-law, Janice Hinz, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by husband Merton, son-in-law, Dennis Laufenberg, one sister and three brothers.

A funeral service will be held at 11am May 7, 2025, at Graceway Church, 65 13th Street Prairie du Sac, WI. A visitation will be from 10am until the time of the service.
