Genevieve Elizabeth Wiste, age 96, died peacefully with family at her side on Friday, December 5, 2014 at Maplewood Nursing Home. The oldest of five children born to Manford and Welthea (French) Hill In Boscobel. Gen lived most of her life in Iowa where she met and married Warren Wiste on February 12, 1966. They moved back to Sauk Prairie in the early 1990's.


She is survived by her sister, June Yanny of Blue River; a son, Roger (Karen) Foster of Sauk City; 14 grandchildren, Rod (Chris) Foster of Baraboo, Julie (Tom) Endres of Mazomanie, Jeff (Lynn) Foster of Spring Green, Mark (Nancy) Foster of New Richmond, Melodie (Jeff) Sliter of Sauk City, Kristen (Rick) Wenzel of Johnson Creek, James (Sharon) Foster of Baraboo, Shelley (Kevin) Kurtz of Georgia, Sheila (Van) Fonken of Indiana, Vicki Foster-Mikesell of Iowa, Erin Foster-Hartley of Iowa, Shannon Foster-Ingle of Iowa, Barbara (Bill) Zwettler of Mazomanie and Lori Foster of Washington; many great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.


In addition to her parents and her husband, Warren, she was preceded in death by her twin brothers, Orvill Hill and Orland Hill; a step-brother, Joseph Murphy; two sons, Robert and Merle; and two grandchildren, Dee Dee Foster-Parkin and Paul Foster.


The family would like to thank the staff at Maplewood Nursing Home as well as Sauk Prairie Healthcare for their kindness and care. A special thank you to Melissa Foster for making sure that her great-grandma always had what she needed or letting grandpa know so he could get it for her.


The family will be having a private service at a later date where she will be laid to rest next to her late husband Warren, in the Mazomanie Cemetery.
