George Fredrick Gmeinder, age 80, died on Thursday, April 5, 2012 at Sauk Prairie Memorial Hospital. He was born on June 17, 1931, on the home farm in the Town of Roxbury, the son of the late Urban and Irma (Hornung) Gmeinder. He was united in marriage to Donna Marie Weisensel on April 22, 1972. George was a lifelong farmer in the Town of Roxbury.
He is survived by his wife, Donna; four children, William (friend, Cindy Miller), Louise (Scott) Guzman, Mae (Shane) Wright and Anna (Chris) Carrigan; grandchildren, Donovan and Sophia Guzman, and two on the way; a sister, Elizabeth (George) Marick; sisters-in-law, Karen (David) Villwock, LaVonne (Stanley) Stangler and Eileen (Jeffrey) McDowell; brothers-in-law, Herbert (Mary) Weisensel, Burnell (Sandra) Weisensel and Steven (Laurie) Weisensel; many nieces and nephews; great-nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Clement and Catherine Weisensel; and a brother-in-law, Ronald Weisensel.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. NORBERT CATHOLIC CHURCH, Roxbury, at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 10, 2012 with Fr. John Blewett officiating. Burial will be in St. Norbert Cemetery. A visitation will be held at HOOVERSON FUNERAL HOME, Sauk City, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Monday, April 9, 2012.
