Obituary

George R. Jackson Jr., age 75, passed away on Wednesday, February 27, 2008 at Maplewood Nursing Home in Sauk City. He was born September 7, 1932 in Richmond VA, to the late George "Sr" and Frances Jackson. George enlisted in the the Army in 1949 at the age of 17 and later served in the Air Force until he retired in 1970. He was proud to serve his country during the Korean and Vietnam War. Following retirement from the military he worked for Michigan Bell and most recently TDS communications in Waunakee. George was a member of the Air Force Seargants Association, American Legion and lifetime member of the Lachmund Cramer VFW Post 7694 of Sauk Prairie. He married Judy Schaefer October 4, 1958 at St. Johns Church in Leland. George had a vareity of interests, horseshoes, golfing, gardening woodworking, and always was working on a project at home. He liked watching the Green Bay Packers, and most of all enjoyed spending time with close friends and family.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Judy of Prairie du Sac

Tim (Denise) Jackson, Sun Prairie
5 grand-children Amber, Mitchell Jr., Brady, Taylor, and Rachel and a great-grandson Landon Jackson, other realtives and many friends.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son Mitchell and a sister Marjorie Yates.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, March 3, 2008 at 12:00 Noon at HOOVERSON FUNERAL HOME, Sauk City with Pastor Fred Rilling officiating. Military rites will be performed by Lachmund Cramer VFW Post 7694. Friends may call from 10am until time of service.
