George John Mech, age 61, passed away unexpectedly at his home in Merrimac on Dec. 26, 2016. He was born in Warsaw, Poland on Aug. 8, 1955. George immigrated to the United States at a very young age when his family settled in the Milwaukee area. He enlisted in the United States Air Force and was honorably discharged. George lived in the foothills and front range of Colorado most of his life. He was looking forward to his next chapter after recently moving to Merrimac. George worked as a truck driver, auto mechanic, maintenance supervisor, and former real estate broker. He enjoyed working on classic cars and motorcycles, and was looking forward to his new home project.

George is survived by his daughters, Casey and Christine Mech, both of Colorado; his mom, Christine Mech; and brother, Robert Mech both of Merrimac.

He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Mech.

A private family service will be held.
