George H. Palmer, age 83, passed away in the comfort of his own home in the Caledonia Township, surrounded by his family on Apr. 24, 2021.  He was born in Baraboo on Mar. 3, 1938 to the late Horace and Margaret (Pierce) Palmer.  He graduated from Prairie du Sac High School; class of 1956.  George was united in marriage to Nita J. McDaniel on Aug. 15, 1959 at The Little Brown Church, in Nashua, Iowa; she preceded him in death on May 11, 2019.  George and Nita farmed in the Caledonia Township while raising their four children.  When not working on the farm he enjoyed time spent up north camping and riding utv, he looked forward to spending time with family and friends and was a member of the Badger Steam and Gas Club.

He is survived by his four children, Randy (Maureen) Palmer, Tim Palmer, Yolanda "Skeeter" (Scott Kasemodel) Palmer, Jay "Spanky" (Kristen Hansen) Palmer;

10 grandchildren, Andy (Amanda) Palmer, Ben (April Deane) Palmer, Greg "Scooter" (Brooke) Palmer, Tyler Palmer, Ryan (Jennifer) Palmer, Casey (Jessica) Palmer, Brandon Palmer, Jason (Ivy) Kasemodel, Carlie, Chloe and Waylon, Palmer; 15 great grandchildren; George's siblings, Faye (John) Janey and Jim Palmer.  He is further survived by other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents and wife, Nita; he was preceded in death by, brothers, Virgil Palmer and Lowell "Jack" and (Dorothy "Doty") Palmer.

A Celebration of George's life will be held at a later date.

George's family would like to extend their gratitude to all of the Healthcare Professionals at St. Mary's Hospital and to the St. Croix Hospice, especially nurses Cheryl and Amy "Spike" who helped keep George comfortable at home.
