After selling the station he went to work for Carnation in Jefferson, WI. for 10 years. He then started driving over the road trucks for Wolf Trucking and other companies. George got back into racing in the 90's at Jefferson Speedway and other local tracks. His son, George II, was the driver of the Sportsman's car and when George II moved up to the Late Model division, daughter Sherri started driving the Sportsman's car. They enjoyed success in winning many feature events. George's cars were always well prepared for the track. He spent many long hours working on the cars. He loved racing very much. Later he moved to Merrimac/Sauk Prairie area to help in the Auto Repair and Service Station that George II owned. There he met a special friend to enjoy the rest of his years with, Cathy Harmon.
