Gerald Lawrence Zins, age 72, passed away on Thursday, January 2, 2014 at the Mosher Veterans Home in Dresbach, MN. He was born in Sauk City on September 21, 1941, the son of the late Otto W. and Loretta B. (Fassbender) Zins. Gerald graduated from Sauk City High School in 1960. He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in Germany from 1960 until 1963.



He is survived by a brother, Allan (Jan) Zins of Sauk City; an uncle, Elmer Schulenburg of Sun Prairie; and cousins.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Harlow Zins; a sister, Delores Bartels; and an infant sister, Jean Marie.


A Prayer and Rosary Service will be held at HOOVERSON FUNERAL HOME, Sauk City, at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, January 7, 2014 with Fr. John Blewett officiating. Military rites will be accorded by Lachmund-Cramer V.F.W. Post 7694. Burial will follow in St. Aloysius Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
