Gilberto "Fonzie" Guzman, age 67, died at home on Wednesday, November 26, 2008 following a battle with multiple myeloma. He was born in Mexico on August 13, 1941, the son of the late Calixto and Consuelo (Andrade) Guzman. Gilberto was well known in the auto body business and had been employed by Ray's Auto Body in Madison, Vern's Auto Body in Middleton, and Waunakee Auto Body, retiring in 1998. His pastimes included hunting, fishing, gardening, planting trees and canning. He is survived by three sons, Gilberto of Oahu, HI, Alfonso (Elizabeth) and Carlos, both of Denver, CO; his longtime significant other, Katherine Bruckert and her children, Austin and Anna; three grandchildren, Alfonso, Andres and Alejandro; two brothers, Ceasar and Homero; other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Norma Guzman. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. ALOYSIUS CATHOLIC CHURCH, Sauk City, at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, December 1, 2008 with Fr. Faustino Ruiz officiating. Burial will be in the Prairie du Sac Cemetery. Friends may call at HOOVERSON FUNERAL HOME, Sauk City, from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 30, 2008 and also after 10:30 a.m. on Monday at the funeral home.
