Gloria N Curry, age 88, died peacefully after a long battle with dementia, on Thursday, March 3, 2016. She was born in Lake Worth, Florida to Irma and Perry Nelson, moving north to Adams Friendship around 1945 to live with a cousin after her father died. While living in Adams, she met her future husband, James, who preceded her in death in 2006. Gloria and Jim had 3 daughters together, Kimberly Kloes Tucson, AZ, Susan Halweg (Steven) Waunakee, WI, and Jeanne Whitish (Mark) Cross Plains, WI. Gloria was a long time member of the First Presbyterian Church in Prairie du Sac up until her move to assisted living. Gloria enjoyed singing in the choir, as well as the car, the kitchen, gathered around a piano, and anywhere else. Gloria grew up on the ocean and had a love of the water her entire life. Gloria was employed by the State of Wisconsin up until her retirement in 1992. She continued to care for her husband for the balance of his lifetime, foregoing many outside activities and interests.

Gloria was also grandma and great grandma to Courtney Franklin (Jen Herrick), Ryan Franklin and his children Liliana and Aaliyah, Matthew Halweg and his children, Jaxon, Theo and Keira, Heather Halweg, Kyle Halweg (Renee), Alyssa Feidt (Adam), their son Liam, Jerod Reuter (Katelyn) and their son Grayson.

Gloria was preceded in death by a brother Perry (Mac) Nelson of San Diego, CA.

A celebration of Gloria's life will be held Tuesday, March 8, 2016 at First Presbyterian Church in Waunakee, WI, at 10:00 am with Pastor Kirk Morledge officiating. Visitation with the family will begin at 9:00 am up until the time of the service and private burial will take place following the service where Gloria will be reunited with Jim in Adams Friendship, WI.
