Gordon Forest Cox, age 88, passed away at his home on Feb. 27, 2016. He was born Dec. 8, 1927 to the late David and Hazel (Hackette) Cox. Gordon proudly served in the United State Marine Corps., and was stationed in North Carolina, California and China. He married Helen Wagner on Dec. 8, 1954. Gordon worked for over 30 years at General Motors in Janesville, retiring in 1985. He was proud of his home in rural Loganville, enjoying the outdoors and bird watching.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Helen; 5 boys, Bryan (Barb) of Janesville, Kevin of Loganville, Eric of Janesville, Anthony of Hillpoint, Darrel (Pat) of Sumpter Township; 8 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Isabelle (David) Laramie and Kate Wells.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Audrey Reed; 3 brothers, Darrel, Howard, and Delmer; and a brother in-law, Bob Wells.

A visitation will be held from 2:00 pm until 5:00 pm on Fri. Mar. 11, 2016 at Hooverson Funeral Home, 251 Water St., Sauk City. A gathering will follow at the Prairie du Sac Town Hall, S. 9903 Hwy 12, Prairie du Sac.
