Harlan R. "Bud" Feigl, 89, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on March 5, 2014, at St. Clare Hospice House in Baraboo. He was born on September 23, 1924 in Honey Creek Township, the son of the late Andrew and Evelyn (Hehenberger) Feigl.
Bud graduated from Sauk City High School in 1942 and married Betty Sprecher on May 28, 1949. He spent his lifetime farming in Irish Valley and enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing cards. In his younger days, he also enjoyed playing softball. Bud was the former director of the Federal Land Bank. He was an active member of Bethlehem United Methodist Church in Black Hawk.
He is survived by his wife, Betty; five children, Curt, Kendall (Sandy), Kevin (Terrie) and Chet, all of Plain, and Beverly (Jeff) Querin of Riverside, CA; a sister, Lillian Zick; 7 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and Foreign Exchange Student Roland Ficht of Germany.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Hazel Bass; and two infant sons, Harvey and Craig Feigl.
Funeral services will be held at BETHLEHEM UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, Black Hawk, at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 8, 2014 with Pastor Kendall Schlittler officiating. Burial will follow in Black Hawk Cemetery. A visitation will be held at HOOVERSON FUNERAL HOME, Sauk City, from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Friday, March 7, 2014.
