IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Harold R.
Klepper
April 21, 1939 – February 12, 2025
Harold Rueben Klepper, age 85, of Prairie du Sac passed away at his home on Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2025. He was born Apr. 21, 1939 in Iowa to the late Theodore and Mabel (Brainerd) Klepper. At a young age his family made the move to Prairie du Sac where Harold attended high school. Upon his graduation he enlisted in the U.S. Army serving from Feb. 1959 until Aug. 1962. It was while enlisted he was united in marriage to Carol Midworth in Detroit, MI., on Dec. 23, 1961; together they enjoyed over 48 years together before she preceded him in death on Mar. 19, 2010. Upon his return from the service, Harold worked at Les Cramer's Mobil station in downtown Prairie du Sac pumping gas and fixing customers cars. Harold went on to work for Greyhound Bus Service. For over 30 years he made sure to get passengers safely to their destination and on time, even serving customer like Elvis, Johnny Cash and John Madden. He finished up his career with UPS for the last 13 years finally retiring in 2009. In retirement he continued to work hard helping his family and driving dump truck with his son Dave at Klepper Trucking.
Harold was a selfless, hardworking man always putting his family's needs and the needs of other before himself. Always one to lend a hand, he would often save or set aside something " that you might need later, that's still good!"
Harold lived for the needs of his family and was most proud of his granddaughters, he made sure everyone was taken care of. He enjoyed playing cards, especially Euchre with his granddaughters. Well known for "laying in the weeds" and often caused an upset when he would play the "bump" card (normally with a satisfied grin to his opponents). He enjoyed the rounds around town, always stopping at the Prairie Mobil, McDonald's and Cenex to have coffee and get the local scoop.
Harold will be missed by his children, Jennifer Klepper and David (Dawn) Klepper; granddaughters, Katie (Jordan) and their son Milo; Nikki and Rachael; sister in-laws, Eileen Klepper and Kathleen Zoltowski. Harold is further survived by other nieces, nephews, other relative and many friends.
In addition to his parents and his wife, Carol; he was preceded in death by granddaughter, Sarah Slaney, brothers Harlan and Martin Klepper and brother in-law, Bill Zoltowski.
