Harris Louis Brockmann, age 88, passed away Monday, May 23, 2011 at home in Mazomanie. He was born July 7, 1922 in Berry Township to the late Ervin and Della (Schumann) Brockmann. Harris graduated from Mazomanie High School, class of 1941. He married Cleo Henning June 12, 1946. Harris farmed in Berry and Mazomanie Townships for his entire life. He was a lifelong member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Marxville and was very involved in his church, previously serving as the Church Board President. Harris also had served on the Patron's Mercantile Cooperative Board of Directors. He and Cleo also enjoyed road trips and traveling together.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Cleo; two sons, Jim (Valerie) Brockmann of Berry Township and Randy (fiancé Jackie) Brockmann of Mazomanie; three grandchildren, Seth, Kyle, and Shelby Brockmann; a great-grandson, Jameson Brockmann; sister-in-law, Donna LaMar of Middleton; other relatives and many friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Willard.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 28, 2011 at 11:00 am at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Marxville, with Pastor Beth Schultz-Byrnes officiating. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. Friends may call Friday, May 27, 2011 from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm at HOOVERSON FUNERAL HOME, 702 Emily Rd., Mazomanie and one hour prior to service at the church.
