Hazel F. Stone, age 92, passed away on Sunday, December 2, 2012, at Maplewood Nursing Home in Sauk City, after a long illness. Hazel was born April 10, 1920 in Merrimac Township, the daughter of the late Frank and Minnie (Welke) Weinke. She was a graduate of Prairie du Sac High School in 1936. Hazel was united in marriage to Wilfred Stone on April 30, 1938, at the Little Brown Church in Nashau, Iowa. He preceded her in death on February 4, 2000.

Together with her husband, they farmed on the Sumpter Flats. Hazel loved her flowers and always had a smile and a kind word for everyone she met. Hazel is survived by her son, Richard, of North Freedom. In addition to her parents and husband, Hazel was preceded in death by two brothers, Clarence and Charles.

As per Hazel's wishes, no services will be held. Private interment will be in Otter Creek Cemetery.
