Helen M. Knight, age 88, died on Sunday, July 17, 2011 at Greenway Manor in Spring Green. She was born on November 9, 1922, the first of nine children, to the late Theodore and Ida (Olson) Swenson. She graduated from Barneveld High School in 1941 and was united in marriage to Burdette Knight on November 2, 1946. The couple were lifetime farmers in Arena Township. He preceded her in death in 1993. Helen was a member of Mounds Creek United Methodist Church.
She is survived by two sisters, Ann Iverson of DeForest and Sally Iverson of Monona; two brothers, Jim Swenson of Madison and Tom (Vonnie) Swenson of Michigan; two sisters-in-law, Marian Swenson of Madison and Rosemary Swenson of Poynette; numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Irene Crary; and three brothers, Bud, John and Richard Swenson.
A funeral service will be held at MIDLAND UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, 10235 CTH KP, Mazomanie, at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 20, 2011, with Pastor Dianne Vielhuber officiating. Burial will be in the Mazomanie Cemetery. Visitation will be at the church from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 19 and also after 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday.
