Obituary

Henry G. "Hank" Vinger, age 82, died on Friday, February 6, 2009 at St. Mary's Hospital in Madison. He was born in Argyle, WI on October 2, 1926, the son of the late Martin and Esther Vinger. Hank was a U.S. Navy veteran, being proud to have served during World War II and having crossed the Equator aboard the U.S.S. Conyngham. He was united in marriage to Neva Montgomery on June 3, 1950. She preceded him in death on December 27, 1995. Hank was employed as a salesman for sporting goods for many years and later was employed by Fish Building Supply. He was a life member of Lachmund-Cramer V.F.W. Post 7694 and Kuoni-Reuter American Legion Post 167. He is survived by a daughter, Patsy (Philip) Baebler of Lodi; five granddaughters, Babette (Peter) Casey of Monona, Joyce (Scott Teeter) Baebler of Mosinee, Stacy Baebler of Dalton, Emily (Troy) Romanek of Blue River and Sarah Baebler of Lodi; two sisters, Mazie Hendrickson and Marsha Mindermann, both of Dodgeville; a brother, Richard (Linda) Vinger of Argyle; six great-grandchildren, Kellie, Ashley, Summer, Billy, Chase and Dakota; other relatives, many good friends at Midway Manor; and his special friends, Luke Liegel. Funeral services will be held at HOOVERSON FUNERAL HOME, Sauk City, at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 11, 2009 with Pastor Dennis Weis officiating. Burial, with military rites conducted by Lachmund-Cramer V.F.W. Post 7694 and Kuoni-Reuter American Legion Post 167, will be in the Prairie du Sac Cemetery. Friends may call at HOOVERSON FUNERALHOME from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 10, 2009.
