Obituary
Herman Leo Hornung, age 88, passed away peacefully, on Tuesday, February 7, 2012 at Maplewood of Sauk Prairie. He was born in Roxbury on June 24, 1923, the son of the late Oscar and Magdalena (Haas) Hornung.
Herman enjoyed working on the farm, nature, and watching the sun set.
He is survived by a sister, Marie Zeman; a special sister-in-law, Louise (Al) Hornung; sister-in-law, Joan Hornung; many nieces, nephews, neighbors, and special friends at Maplewood. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, infant Gilbert, Leo, Alfred, Rita Burkwald, Brother Raphael, Gilbert, Gerald and Paul; and brothers-in-law, Russell Zeman and David Burkwald.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 11, 2012 at ST. NORBERT CATHOLIC CHURCH, Roxbury. Burial will follow in St. Norbert Cemetery. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. on Saturday at HOOVERSON FUNERAL HOME, Sauk City.
The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Maplewood Nursing Home for their loving care of Herman.
