Obituary

Holly Jean Hittesdorf, age 66, passed away at University Hospital, Madison on Wednesday, May 11, 2022.  She was born in Dodgeville on July 1, 1955 to the late Keith and Jean (Hardy) Whitford.  She graduated from Mineral Point High School in 1973.  Holly was united in marriage to David L. Hittesdorf at Bethel United Methodist Church in Mineral Point on Oct. 11, 1975; shortly after she and Dave made their home in Arena.  Holly did in-home daycare and raised her family at home.  She later went to work at Cardinal IG in Spring Green where she retired after nearly 30 years.  Holly enjoyed gardening, flowers, baking, shopping, watching Wisconsin sports and traveling with family; a highlight was her trip to Yellowstone last summer.  Coordinating family events was her specialty; she loved to plan for her family, supporting and spending time with them; especially her grandchildren.  Holly was a member of Midland United Methodist Church and also enjoyed helping and supporting the Arena VFW at their events.

Holly is survived by her husband, Dave; children, Tricia (Don) Griffin, Jeff (Anne) Hittesdorf, Lori (Ryan) Lawton; 6 grandchildren, Devin and Kylee Griffin, Peyton and Savannah Hittesdorf, Ali and Ava Lawton, and her beloved cat Lilly.  She is further survived by many close family members and friends.

In addition to her parents, Holly was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Rod and Jim Whitford.

Holly's family would like to thank Dr. Andreas de Biasi and the Cardiac Critical Care Team at UW Hospital along with family, friends, and neighbors for their support and prayers for Holly.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, May 18, 2022 at Midland United Methodist Church, 10235 County Hwy KP, Mazomanie.  A visitation will be held Tuesday, May 17, from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm at the church and the morning of the service from 10:00 am until the time of service.  Interment will be held at the Graceland Cemetery, Mineral Point following a luncheon at the church.
