Howard Walter Johnson, age 93, died on Wednesday, December 24, 2008 at his home in Sauk City. He was born in Berlin, Wisconsin on December 24, 1915, the son of the late Christian W. and Catherine E. (Stevens) Johnson. He was united in marriage to Gladys E. Mack on August 17, 1940. Howard lived most of his life in Milwaukee before moving to the Sauk Prairie area in 1989. He is survived by a son, Allan Johnson of the state of Oregon; a sister, Gertrude Mork of Milwaukee; 2 sisters-in-law, Delia Matteson and her husband John Matteson of Watertown, and Frances Mack of Prairie du Sac; a brother-in-law, Lester Jacobson of Minnesota; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Gladys in 1998; and several sisters-in-laws and brothers-in-law. Funeral services will be held at HOOVERSON FUNERAL HOME, Sauk City, at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 27, 2008. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will be in Wisconsin Memorial Park, Brookfield, WI.
